Phobias

In blood-injection-injury (BII) phobia, people experience extreme fear or anxiety at the sight of blood, injuries, or needles. Unlike most other phobias—which usually cause a rise in heart rate and blood pressure—BII phobia often triggers a vasovagal response, leading to a sudden drop in heart rate and blood pressure, which can cause fainting. This fainting response is part of what makes BII phobia unique among anxiety disorders. In addition to ERP treatment, the client will also learn how to engage in applied tension technique.
